The titles of the thirteen books in contention for the 2008 Man Booker Prize were released last week, and included some new names, plus current hot release Netherland by Joseph O’Neil, plus the ubiquitous Salman Rushdie for The Enchantress of Florence, and Mohammed Hanif’s A Case of Exploding Mangoes, which I assume was included because of its subject matter, not its literary prowess (see my earlier review on June 4th).
