Best Books of 2010 Round-Up
Book reviewers on both sides of the atlantic have now compiled their run-down of the must-reads of 2010. I’m in no position to comment (much) having barely cracked the spine of any of them… so ask me again, next year. Meanwhile any cultural johnny-on-the-spots out there who are all up to date (swots…), can compare their own verdicts against the Guardian, and James Wood at The New Yorker, and the top ten from the NY Times, or the folks over at Publisher’s Weekly, and at The Daily Beast, and have listen in to NPR. The overlap does not surprise me, though the persistent appearances of A Visit from the Goon Squad and The Pregnant Widow does (having found them both, and the hype surrounding them, a bit of a ‘huh?’). Last, but certainly not least, check ‘a year in reading,’ at The Millions, where writers share the book they enjoyed reading this past year, regardless of when it was published.
